Transient contralateral hemiplegia after ophthalmic zoster. Therapeutic problems in elderly patients.

Delayed ipsilateral carotid arteritis is a known complication of herpes zoster ophthalmicus. The case of a 70-year-old man with two TIAs following ophthalmic zoster is reported, and the therapeutic problems in elderly patients are discussed.
