Concurrent Validity of the WPPSI—R and the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities

The concurrent validity of the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Revised (WPPSI-R) and the McCarthy Scales of Children's Abilities was assessed with 32 preschool and kindergarten children. The correlations of.70, .73, and .81 between the McCarthy General Cognitive Index and WPPSI-R IQs on the Verbal, Performance, and Full Scales were significantly different from zero. There were no differences among the three WPPSI-R means and the McCartly General Cognitive Index mean for the total group, or for gender means
