Hybrid integration of U-turn layout semiconductor waveguide and silica-based planar lightwave circuit

We fabricated a hybrid integration device which consists of U-turn layout InP-based semiconductor waveguides and silica-based planar lightwave circuits (PLC). The coupling loss was 1.9 dB and the return loss was less than −50dB.
