Reconocimiento, estudio y delimitación de un itinerario de interpretación cultural desde las llanuras fértiles al desierto central de la Provincia de la Pampa

Within a conceptual, meaningful and functional frame of what subject to the definition of the International Scientific Committee on Cultural Routes (CIIC) of ICOMOS, a Cultural Route is “Anyroute of communication, be it land, water, or some other type, which is physically delimited and is also characterized by having its own specific dynamic and historic functionality”, the research poses recognition, study and valuation of historical cultural landscape indicators in order to make Humid Pampas’ interphase emerge involving Humid Pampa to pre-Patagonian central dessert, featuring La Pampa’s central region’s transversal valley system’s hydro-geological formation from Santa Rosa-Toay to Lihue Calel National Park and Puelches town in the heart of the Province asmain scene. The approached methodology is based on landscape recognition and construction (in itssymbolic and material dimensions) as of the field work that allows revealing traces and marks by means of scheduled trips and the study of documental sources; cartographies; and historical fileson the region, following historical and cultural event theme lines that, featuring General Acha Cityas “intersection” develop in opposition to the east-west direction on Valle Argentino and in southnorth direction by means of the first rail line from Bahia Blanca City in Buenos Aires Province to Santa Rosa City in La Pampa. This delimits a cultural interchange scene among small towns and reaffirms the Pampean region’s cultural identity bases. From this place, the research intends to generate continuity and integrate experiences as well as knowledge reached by means extension activities, research projects and subjects’ exercises which the Academic Unit and its Theater Arts and Architecture careers have been developing in La Pampa Province since 2005. This is taking place within a strategic region due to its geographical, historical, natural and cultural resources in Argentina. To the foregoing, since 2011, a new topic regarding the recognition and study of routes according to their natural and cultural features has been being approached by the School of Art and Architecture. Said topic should be reassessed.
