Perfluorooctanoic (PFOA) Acid Detection in Aqueous Medium using Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) Thin Film on Optical Fiber Endface

Polyvinylidene fluoride thin films were developed on optical fiber endface, using immersion precipitation technique, to detect perfluorooctanoic acid in water. Fabry-Perot interference was monitored and changes in optical path difference were measured to characterize sensor performance.
