Method and apparatus for rapid sterilization

A method for rapid sterilization, comprising: a to be sterilized utensil (3) and/or object is placed into a sterilizing apparatus, where a 200-280 nanometer ultraviolet light source (2) and a support mechanism (4) are provided within the sterilizing apparatus, the to be sterilized utensil (3) and/or the support mechanism (4) are made of a material transmitting ultraviolet rays of 200-280 nm, the ultraviolet transmittance of the material transmitting ultraviolet rays of 200-280 nm is ≥ 60% at a thickness of 1 mm; the ultraviolet light source (2) illuminates the to be sterilized utensil and/or object from at least two directions, where the ultraviolet light source (2) is an ultraviolet lamp or an ultraviolet LED, the radiated power of the ultraviolet light source (2) is ≥ 20 mW/cm 2 , the ultraviolet conversion efficiency is ≥ 30%. Also disclosed is the sterilizing apparatus for use in the method for rapid sterilization.
