Comparative data from contraceptive prevalence surveys: knowledge use and availability of family planning in eight countries

Findings are presented from contraceptive prevalence surveys in Bangladesh Colombia Costa Rica Egypt Mexico the Republic of Korea Thailand and Tunisia. The emphasis is on similarities and major differences among countries in patterns of contraceptive use. Factors considered include contraceptive knowledge and use urban and rural differences age and number of living children socioeconomic characteristics future fertility intentions and contraceptive availability.
