Effect of PP and PP/MWCNT-COOH nanocomposites on mechanical properties

Polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites with 1wt% carboxyl functionalized MWCNT (MWCNT-COOH) was prepared using Haake Reomix and injection moulding. Mechanical properties of PP and PP/MWCNT-COOH nanocomposites are investigated. The result exhibit that impact strength of PP/MWCNT-COOH increased with the addition of 1wt% functionalized MWCNT compared to virgin PP whereas the tensile and flexural strength are reduced.Polypropylene (PP) nanocomposites with 1wt% carboxyl functionalized MWCNT (MWCNT-COOH) was prepared using Haake Reomix and injection moulding.
