Mobile terminal positioning method and system

The invention provides a mobile terminal positioning method and system. The method comprises: disposing at least two sound wave positioning transceivers synchronous with a mobile terminal, or at least three sound wave positioning transceivers not required to be synchronous with the mobile terminal in the positioning area of the mobile terminal to receive sound wave signals of the mobile terminal, and to obtain corresponding data flows from the received sound wave signals; obtaining the signal transmission time corresponding to each sound wave positioning transceiver or the signal transmission time difference among the sound wave positioning transceivers from the data flows; and performing TOA (Time Of Arrival) calculation according to the position and signal transmission time of each sound wave positioning transceiver, or performing TDOA (Time Difference Of Arrival) calculation according to the position of each sound wave positioning transceiver and the signal transmission time difference among the sound wave positioning transceivers so as to determine the position of the mobile terminal in the positioning area. The technical scheme can reduce the positioning cost of a mobile terminal, and meanwhile improve the positioning precision and reliability of the mobile terminal.
