Comparison of Non-Isolated Boost Converter & Isolated Flyback Converter for PV Application

2017
Need of alternate electrical energy resources and compatibility with grid connection has revived the interest in PV system. In this paper, PV module is designed. The different characteristics curve of solar cell is obtained and it’s dependency is observed on temperature and irradiation. The non-isolated boost and isolated flyback converter is used as an interface between PV panel and the load. A detailed analysis and operation of flyback converter and boost converter has been discussed. Perturb and Observe Maximum power point tracking algorithm has been employed to operate the panel voltage at its MPP. For design of controller, state space analysis is also done to get transfer function of PV voltage and duty ratio The performance of both converter is compared in this paper.
