Isolation and structural determination of a novel antimicrobial compound from the root of Pulsatilla koreana.

2000
Abstract A new antimicrobial pulsaquinone (1), having a novel 7-6 bicyclic carbon skeleton, was isolated from the root of Pulsatilla koreana Nakai. The structure was established by its MS, 1H-, 13C-, and two dimensional NMR (1H-1H COSY and HMBC) spectroscopic data and confirmed by the selective reduction of 1.
