Indication and Postoperative Evaluation of Pylorus Preserving Gastrectomy for Early Gastric Cancer

Pylorus preserving gastrectomy(PPG) should be indicated for early gastric cancer as follows; 1. In the case of Type I or Ila, PPG is indicated for histologically differentiated type, 15 to 30 mm in tumor size with mucosal invasion and less than 15 mm in tumor size with submucosal invasion. 2. In the case of Type Ila + IIc, IIc + IIa, IIc or IIc + III, PPG is indicated for less than 10 mm in tumor size with peptic ulcer in cancer focus regardless to hitological type. 3. Cancer focus is at least 3.5 cm away from the pyloric ring. In the case of PPG serum acetaminophen level after oral administration increased grdually and contractility of gallbladder was kept as same as pre-operative conditon.
