Spondylolysis of the cervical vertebrae. Report of three cases, with a review of the English and French literature.

1974
Three cases of cervical spondylolysis are reported. The first two involved C-6: one, bilateral, in a man; the other, unilateral, in a woman. The third was also unilateral but involved C-4. All three were accompanied by a spina bifida. No abnormal neurological signs were detected in any of the three cases. The importance of the condition lies in its differentiation from a fresh fracture, especially with a history of acute trauma.
