Characterization of Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz. isolates obtained from avocado (Persea americana Mill.) fruits cv. Hass from different producing regions of Michoacán, Mexico using Random Amplified Polymorphic DNA.

2009
Avocado anthracnose by C. gloeosporioides is present under several variations in all the counties of Michoacan, Mexico where avocado is cultivated. The objective of the present research was to characterize monoconidial isolations of C. gloeosporioides, obtained from avocado fruits with different symptoms and coming from different producing regions of Michoacan, using their genomic tracks produced by the polymerization chain reaction technique through the random amplified polymorphism of ADN (RAPD). The smallest genetic distance was observed among the monoconidial isolates 30 and 33 from Uruapan fruit with anthracnoses and crack-anthracnoses symptom. The longest distances were observed among the isolates 11 and 17 are from Tacambaro producing crack-anthracnoses and smallpox symptoms respectively. Group seems to indicate that groups are formed based on the localities and symptoms.
