Determination of Total Flavonoids in Viburnum setigerum

Objective To establish a method for determination of total flavonoids in Viburnum setigerum.Methods The contents of total flavonoids in the samples were assayed by ultraviolet spectroscopy.Results The total flavonoids were extracted with evaporative reflux from Viburnum setigerum by 50% alcohol,its content was determined by ultraviolet spectroscope with NaNO2-Al(NO3)3-NaOH system,the linear range varied from 23.5～116.5 μg/ml,r=0.999 8,the average recovery was 101.1%,RSD=1.08%(n=5).The average content of total flavonoids in Viburnum Setigerum was 11.83%,and the contents of total flavonoids in Viburnum setigerum were different because of their different regions.Conclusion The method is easy to operat and is repeatable,which provides a basis for quality control of Viburnum setigerum.
