Symptoms, causes and remedies for failures in enterprise systems implementation

2015
The purpose of this research is to determine the underlying factors that contribute to failures and provide possible remedies in adopting an enterprise system. A system implemented for an organisation is considered a failure whenever it does not meet the expectations of its stakeholders. This research examines enterprise systems implementation failures and the inter-relationships between symptoms, causes, and remedies. Seven propositions are developed to identify possible key factors of the enterprise systems implementation failures. The propositions are supported with case studies and are intended as guidelines for enterprise systems researchers and practitioners.
