Determination of nitrite by a nano-Au /melamine modified electrode

2013
A nano-Au/melamine film modified glassy carbon electrode(Au/MA/GCE) was fabricated by electropolymerization of melamine(MA) and then potentiostatic deposition of Au nanoparticles(Au),which were produced through the in situ reduction of AuIII.The surface topography and elemental analysis of the modified electrode were characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The electrochemical behavior of nitrite at the modified electrode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry(CV).Under the optimal conditions, the assay results indicate that the proposed sensor exhibits a sensitive oxidation peak to nitrite at 0.85 V.The oxidation peak current(ipa) increases linearly with the concentration of nitrite from 1.0×10-5 to 1.0×10-3 mol/L with a detection limit of 8.9×10-7 mol/L.The modified electrode can be applied to the analysis of nitrite in real samples with good results.
