Comportamiento temporal de los focos de calor detectados por satélites en la provincia de Cienfuegos

2018
The use of satellite remote sensing every day becomes an important tool in firefighting. Since 2012, the Meteorological Center of Cienfuegos has implemented the Early Warning System for Fire in Vegetation, through which the monitoring of hot spots through the Brazilian system " Queimadas " is carried out, in addition to the calculation of danger indices of fires in the vegetation to warn of favorable conditions for the occurrence of these incidents in the province. The main objective of this work is to study the temporal behavior of hot spots detected in the province of Cienfuegos. For this purpose, was used the database of the web page " Queimadas " of the National Institute of Spatial Research of Brazil in the period 2001-2016. The results showed the presence of hot spots in all the months of the analyzed years, reporting the highest number in the dry season (November-April) and March was the month with the highest frequency. The direct relationship between the behavior of the rains and the report of hot spots in the provincial territory is demonstrated
