Autoimmune hepatitis (AIH) is a progressive inflammatory liver disease, which is characterized by increased levels of transaminases and IgG in blood serum, presence of autoantibodies and histological picture of hepatitis interface without known etiology. This review analyzes current data one epidemiology, classification, genetic predisposition, diagnosis and therapy of AIH in children.
