Responding to the Provocation: What Gives Some Principals the Edge on Parent Engagement?

In this final chapter, we speak back to the original provocation for the Principal Leadership for Parent Engagement project—What gives some principals the edge on parent engagement? Our response draws final conclusions, describes contributions, and explores possible implications for practice and research arising from our investigation. We frame our response under three headings: conceptual understanding, knowledge and practice, and methodology. We also highlight what we see as the significance of our findings and suggest possible future research directions. Limitations to our research are included before we offer some final thoughts and hopes for the future.
