Low-Energy γ-Ray Transitions Between Compound States

Results are discussed of measurement in the (n, γ, α) and (n, γ, f) reactions of radiation strength functions for low-energy γ-ray transitions between nuclear compound states –S γ cc . A comparison of them with radiation strength functions of high-energy M1 transitions –S γ cs prooved their being about the same in a wide range of atomic weights. This can be explained in terms of the statistical theory under reasonable assumption about the weights of the wave function components of compound states.
