Informatics analysis for the structure and function of spef1-like gene from Taenia saginata asiatica

2007
To analyze and predict the structural characteristics of Spef1 Like gene from Taenia saginata asiatica by bioinformatics.By using the bioinformatics tools in bioinformatics webs site such as NCBI(http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/),ExPASY(http://www.expasy.org/) and the others the particular packages of biofomatic software as pcgene and vector NTI suite 8.0.The Spef1-Like gene and the coding region sequence from Taenia saginata asiatica cDNA club were firstly identifed, then the characteristics of structure and fuction of Spef1-like protein were analyzed and predicated using two ways mentioned above, including physical and chemical characteristics, modified sites and motifs in first structure, subcellular location, secondary structure and formation in three dimesion space, hydropathicity and potential epitopes and so on.This gene was 1099bp in length and its coding site was from 117bp to 929bp,coding 271 amina acids, aligxed with other genes from GenBank and was a complete full-length gene. The protein deduced from the gene was stable at physical and chemical characteristics, owning many potential modiified sites and the over-membrance region.Three major linear epitope were nearer from each other on the surface of spatial structure of Spef1-like gene.It is concluded that Spef1-like gene was screened from the cDNA library of adult Taenia asiatica by bioinformatical method.
