The present invention relates to a mobile terminal which stores configuration information related to an operation of executing a content, displays an item for executing the content on the basis of the configuration information, and executes the content in the configuration state corresponding to the configuration information when the item is selected, and a control method therefor. The present invention comprises: registering and storing operation state information corresponding to a certain operation time of a content as a shortcut; displaying an item of the shortcut on a screen; and when the item is selected, executing the content immediately from the time corresponding to the operation state information, thereby providing the effect of enabling a user to skip an unnecessary part of the item and execute the content from a part desired by the user.
