Detection Limits and Magnetic Particle Behaviour Measured by a SQUID System

2004
The paper deals with a method of quantifying the contaminating powder ferromagnetic microparticles (PFMP) which can be present in the human tissue. Measuring the remanent magnetic induction of the low volume samples we determined the limit amount of ferromagnetic powders in fluid and solid environment detectable by our rf SQUID system. On the results of the measurement of a big sized ellipsoidal sample we demonstrate the method of quantification of the PFMP in the lung segments and its precision.
