How to find thermophysical material property data for casting simulations.

The numerical simulation of casting processes has become a powerful tool for producing castings with less defects. However, the thermophysical material properties needed for such simulations are often very hard to find. As part of a European Collaborative Program, Microstructural Engineering by Solidification Processing (MEBSP), a group of European partners have gathered information on: i) reference books, ii) databases, iii) measuring techniques, and iv) measurers, all relevant to thermophysical property data for casting simulations, on a web site with the address www.gi.rwth-aachen.de/mebsp-b/. The authors are inviting comments and contributions from the scientific and technical community about the content of the site. In particular we wish to know how useful the information that has been gathered is to modelers of industrial processes.
