Major amputations of the extremities due to trauma

1949
Abstract 1. 1. Seventy-six amputations among sixty-seven individuals have been presented and discussed. There are nine individuals who had double amputations. 2. 2. Methods of amputation are discussed in detail. 3. 3. The intravenous use of procaine has been tried and found useful in some conditions affecting the sympathetic nervous system. 4. 4. A method is suggested whereby all amputations through the foot can be stabilized at the time of surgery thus obviating deformity and painful and useless stumps.
