Helical configuration of poly(tert-butyliminomethylene). Complete resolution and maximum optical rotation†‡§

By repeated chromatography over optically active poly(sec-butyliminomethylene) on glass beads complete resolution of poly(tert-butyliminomethylene) was obtained. The specific rotation increases with molecular weight up to [α]20578 = 56 ± 2° at approximately 20 repeating units.
