Pipelined analog-to-digital converter and the correction method

2009
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipeline type ADC which can periodically update error correction data from the outside without needing to retain the error correction data in the inside over a long period. SOLUTION: Each of series-connected stages 2, 3 converts an input analog signal to digital data to be output, and converts the digital data after the conversion to an analog signal to be output to the next stage by obtaining a difference from the input analog signal. An offset correction circuit 15, a first stage error correction circuit 16, a second stage error correction circuit 20, adder circuits 18, 19, 22 and D-FFs 18, 19 correct the digital data output from the first and second stages 2, 3 by error correction data received from a memory 12.
