2013
Lacquer thinner is commonly used for removing household paints & contains halogenated hydrocarbons and naphta. It may lead to methemoglobinemia if ingested. We report a 16 years old boy who reported in the emergency with a history of accidental ingestion of paint thinner and was diagnosed to be having methemoglobinemia. He was treated with methylene blue and supportive therapy and was discharged in stable condition.
