Kinetics of polycondensation of diglycidyl ether of diphenylol propane and 3,3′-dichloro-4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane☆

1987
Abstract The kinetics of polycondensation of the diglycidyl ether of diphenylol propane and 3,3′-dichloro-4,4′-diaminodiphenylmethane has been studied by GPC and pulsed NMR. It is shown that in a wide interval of depths of conversion to the point of gel formation change in the concentrations of the starting substances and the reaction products are described by statistical laws. The molecular heterogeneity of the reaction system leads to heterogeneity of the kinetic properties, the molecules of the non-reacting epoxide oligomer and amine and also the products of attachment containing one amine molecule and from one to four units of the epoxide oligomer being responsible for the most mobile phase.
