Real-time quantitative reconstruction based on microwave holography

2016
Microwave holography has been used as a fast (real-time) qualitative inversion method for more than two decades. Recently, a quantitative holographic method was proposed. However, since this method involves the solution of a large system of linear equations, it requires significant processing time. We propose a new reconstruction strategy that is still based on the principles of microwave holography but reduces the processing time by orders of magnitude. It has the same accuracy and spatial resolution as the previously proposed quantitative holography method, yet it performs in real time similarly to the qualitative methods. Validation is achieved through the inversion on data acquired with both simulations and experiments.
