The Values of Evaluation of Cerebral Blood Flow and Perfusion Reserve Capacity in the Diagnosis and Treatment of Sympto matic Intracranial Arterial Stenosis

2007
The surgery intervention has considerable blindness only according to the clinical symptoms and the degrees of artery stenosis before cerebral blood flow and perfusion reserve capacity in patients with symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis can be made clear. Cerebral blood flow and perfusion are the most direct evidences in the evaluation of cerebral ischemia. Because of the collateral circulation and the cerebrovascular reserve capacity, the intracranial arterial stenosis and/or reduced cerebral blood flow velocity may not indicate the decrease of cerebral perfusion in the territory. The article expatiates the values of evaluation of cerebral blood flow and perfusion reserve capacity in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with symptomatic intracranial arterial stenosis. Key words: cerebral blood flow;  cerebral perfusion;  reserve capacity;  intracranial arterial stenosis
