The East London grain elevator

The paper descriptionbes the design and construction of South Africa's third terminal elevator erected at East London to provide additional bulk handling facilities for the storage and export of maize. The capacity of the silo is 60,000 tons which is provided by 40 circular bins, 24 ft in diameter and 124 ft high arranged in four rows of ten, so that an additional 27 star bins are also available for storage.
