Research on Transient Stability of Wind-Thermal Bundled System

In this paper, the transient stability of wind-thermal bundled system was studied. Firstly, basing on principles of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG), analyzes the transient characteristics, control strategies of DFIG and the fault behavior of DFIG in failure process. At the same time, the equivalent external characteristic of DFIG was given. Then, based on the equal area rule, the transient stability of wind-thermal bundled system was derived and analyzed. Finally, in Matlab/Simulink, simulation system of wind-thermal bundled was constructed. The results showed that the transient stability of the wind-thermal bundled system is worse than the pure thermal system.
