The liquid crystal device

2000
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device where one or more spacers have the same optical property as a 'black' liquid crystal state. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device contains a liquid crystal layer which includes plural pixels insulated from one another by inter-pixel gaps, and each pixel has a first optical state where maximum light attenuation is brought about, and at least one spacer is arranged in the inter-pixel gap and practically has the same optical property as the first optical state of pixels.
