A locomotive braking control system comprises an air-braking small brake (1), a gear detecting device (2) and a braking control unit (3), wherein the gear detecting device (2) is coupled to the air-braking small brake (1), the braking control unit (3) is connected to the gear detecting device (2), the gear detecting device (2) is used for detecting the gear of the air-braking small brake and sending a detected gear signal to the braking control unit (3), and the braking control unit (3) is used for controlling a driving device of the locomotive according to the received gear signal. Through the locomotive braking control system provided by the invention, the braking control unit can know the gear of the air-braking small brake of the locomotive, and gear information can be sent to another locomotive to synchronously control the braking of the other locomotive.
