Evolution of a Nursing Model for Identifying Client Needs in a Disaster Shelter: A Case Study with the American Red Cross

2016
: From the time of Clara Barton, Red Cross nursing has had a key role in the care and support of persons affected by disasters in the United States. From an intake process to a nursing model for assessment, an evidence-guided process informed a systematic approach for a registered nurse-led model of care.
