Evaluation of Effective Electrical Conductivity of Carbon Electrode with Porous Metal Collector

2012
INTRODUCTION High performance secondary battery and capacitor have to be developed more and more. In particular, to increase effective electrical conductivity in the direction of through-plane and to decrease contact resistances to collector are very important. In order to solve these problems, not only new electrode materials but also electrode structure design is important. As one of the method, porous collector is effective to enlarge contact surface area and relax stress at charge-discharge cycle. In this study, hydrogen bubble template method with electrical deposition was focused to make copper porous collector, and the relationship between porous structure and effective electrical conductivity of composite electrode with porous collector was examined by numerical analysis.
