Cirugía ambulatoria en el cancer de mama. Etapas I y II. Ambulatory surgery in breast cancer. Stages I and II

Se intervinieron quirurgicamente 129 personas con el diagnostico de cancer de mama en etapas I y II en el Hospital Docente Clinico "Abel Santamaria Cuadrado" de Pinar del Rio en el periodo comprendido entre el primero de enero de 1995 y el 31 de diciembre de 1998. La intervencion se realizo de forma ambulatoria en 47 pacientes y las restantes 82 pacientes fueron intervenidas en el transcurso de su ingreso hospitalario, siendo los grupos etareos mas frecuentes entre 41 y 50 anos asi como las mayores de 70. Las pacientes se encontraban fundamentalmente en los estadios I y II - a de la enfermedad y fueron operadas por cirugia conservadora. Las complicaciones no infecciosas predominaron y el costo por paciente en las enfermedades ingresadas supero mas de dos veces a aquellas operadas ambulatoriamente. La cirugia ambulatoria mostro superioridad desde el punto de vista biopsicoeconomico. DeSC: CIRUGIA AMBULATORIA, NEOPLASMAS DE LA MAMA/ Cirugia. ABSTRACT One hundred twenty nine patients were operated with de diagnosis of breast cancer stages I and II at "Abel Santamaria" General Hospital of Pinar del Rio in the period from January 1995 and December 31, 1998. The surgery was made at the out-patient service in 47 patients and the remaining 82 patients were operated upon during their hospital stay, the most frequent age groups were between 41 and 50 years old as well as those older than 70. The patients were mainly in stages I and II of the disease of the disease and they were operated upon by means of conservative surgery. There was a prevalence of non infectious complications and the cost per patient was more than double than those operated as ambulatory patients.
