2021
Purple witchweeds are root semiparasites of monocotyledonous plants mainly and are malignant weeds of cultivated and wild cereals. These plants form numerous dustlike seeds, which contaminate grain, fodder, soil and can easily spread to new territories. Their detection in seeds and commodities is extremely difficult. Cleaning the grain from purple witchweed is almost impossible, thus it is prohibited to import the products of this type into the territory of the EEU from the countries of distribution of weeds and such products must be returned or destroyed.
