Preparation and application of alkaline Ca-bentonite anhydrous material in ethanol vapor dehydration

2008
A kind of alkaline Ca-bentonite anhydrous material was prepared for the removal of water from organic vapor. The material was synthesized by activated clay and calcium oxide slurry under the drying condition.Optimizing the preparation conditions of alkaline Ca-bentonite anhydrous material through orthogonal experiment, the optimum technological parameters of calcium dosage, ratio of liquid and solid, reaction time and temperature were obtained. The product was applied to the gaseous phase adsorption for ethanol dehydration with fixed bed and the ethanol with high purity of 99.5% in mass was obtained. The fixed bed dehydration experiments examined the influences of the gas velocity and the bed temperature to the adsorp- tion and that provide a reference for further application.
