TELECOMMAND AND TELEMETRY SYSTEM SECURITY: A RISK ANALYSIS METHODOLOGY TO PRODUCE GENERIC AND TAILORED-TO-MISSION SECURITY REQUIREMENTS

As any information system, space systems require data security solutions. This article develop a risk assessment methodology to be used for spacecraft’s telemetry and telecommand (TM/TC) systems. This methodology identifies and classifies threats and vulnerabilities in a relative way according to their risk. Then its outcomes are exploited to establish the security requirements. This methodology has been designed from generic risk assessment ones (ISO, NIST, EBIOS) and adds new elements that make it more relevant to the space domain.
