Use of pulsed Doppler ultrasonography to evaluate blood flow in intraocular melanomas

1987
Pulsed Doppler ultrasound was used to evaluate the eyes of 12 patients with ocular melanomas. Eight eyes were enucleated; one was lost to follow-up; three patients were treated with heavy ion radiation. In all patients flow could be detected using the pulsed Doppler technique. The location and character of the flow from within tumors was different than that detected in normal eyes.
