The technology for three vehicle-installed optical sensor models (laser radar, ground speed sensor and ground view sensor (GVS) that detect the road environment is described. Information is also given on vehicle sensors for electronic toll collection (ETC) systems such as the compact vehicle sensor and the optical axle counting sensor.
