FIRST RECORDS OF THE CHEWING LICE (PHTHIRAPTERA) ASSOC I

The European bee-eater(Merops apiaster )migratesthroughSaudiArabiaannually. A total of 25individuals of this species were captured fromthreelocalities in Riyadhand Ta'if. Threespecies of chewing lice were identified from these birds andnewlyaddedtolist ofSaudi Arabia parasiticlicefauna from160lice individ uals,Meromenopon meropisof suborder Amblycera ,Brueelia apiastri andMeropoecus meropisof suborder Ischnocera.
