The invention belongs to the field of mine filling, and relates to a storage device and method for improving the discharging concentration stability of a vertical sand silo. The storage device and method are characterized in that a tailing slurry self-dilution device, a polyacrylamide solution nozzle and a feeding shaft are additionally arranged on a silo body, and a shearing circulating pump, an electric reversing valve, a circulating pipe and a discharging pipe are designed at the bottom. According to the storage device and method, energy consumption is small, and a harrow frame in a thickener is omitted; the vertical sand silo can achieve the continuous feeding and discharging functions, the treating capacity is improved, and the height of a slurry layer is stabilized; a bottom slurry making device of the vertical sand silo is omitted, and therefore the inner structure of the silo is greatly simplified; the discharging concentration of the vertical sand silo can be substantially increased, and the bottom flow tends to be stable.
