Первый опыт применения высокодозной брахитерапии при местнораспространенном раке предстательной железы в Западной Сибири

Brachytherapy is a modern treatment method of localized advanced prostate cancer (PC). Complications due to interstitial radiotherapy with high-dose rate sources (Irridium-192) used were analyzed in 25 patients. In patients reported early-onset radiation complications were I-II degree urethritis (20 %) and rectitis (4 %). No late-onset radiation complications were recorded. Thus, brachytherapy is a reasonably safe treatment method for PC.
