Fast Acquisition Algorithm for GPS L5 Signal Based on Folding

L5 signal is the third civilian signal introduced in the process of GPS modernization. Compared with the traditional C/A code signal, message format, PRN code transmission rate and length of L5 signal have been improved. In particular, the pilot component without data transmission is added, making the navigation signal be more easily collected by the receiver. According to the structural characteristics of L5 signal, this paper proposes a fast acquisition method based on the folded single pilot component, which can effectively overcome the Cross Ambiguity Function (CAF) energy loss caused by the polarity reversal of NH codes.
