El refuerzo del gobierno económico europeo

The European Union has tried to coordinate the policy reaction to the economic and financial crisis at each stage. First, by designing support measures for the financial system, second, by providing stimulus to the real economy and, finally, by setting out a credible fiscal consolidation strategy at the European level. However, with the European sovereign debt crisis, the need to increase the degree of structural economic coordination among member states has become apparent. Hence, the European Union is strengthening economic governance through increased macroeco­ nomic, fiscal and financial oversight, thus improving the Union’s ability to cope with future crises.
