Refractory angina (RA) is a common and debilitating clinical condition, characte- rized by the persistence of symptoms despite optimal medical therapy, along with unfeasible percutaneous coronary interventions or myocardial revascularization. The survival of patients with this diagnosis is similar to that of patients with chronic ischemic heart disease. Thera- peutic options should focus on relieving angina and improving quality of life.
